What CAET tests
CAET is the admission test for undergraduate engineering at IIT Delhi's Abu Dhabi campus — the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi operating in the UAE, with degrees awarded by IIT Delhi and instruction in English.
Like every serious engineering entrance, it is built on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at Class 11 and Class 12 level. If you are preparing for JEE Main, you are already preparing for most of this: the underlying subject matter is the same body of material, and the study plan you would build for one serves the other.
Physics
Mechanics through to modern physics: kinematics, laws of motion, work energy and power, rotation, gravitation, properties of matter, thermodynamics, oscillations and waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, optics, dual nature of matter, atoms and nuclei, semiconductor basics.
Chemistry
Physical chemistry — mole concept, atomic structure, thermodynamics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, kinetics. Inorganic chemistry — periodic classification, chemical bonding, the s-, p-, d- and f-block elements, coordination compounds. Organic chemistry — general organic chemistry, hydrocarbons, and the functional-group families through to biomolecules and polymers.
Mathematics
Algebra, complex numbers, matrices and determinants, permutations and combinations, sequences and series, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, three-dimensional geometry, vectors, limits and continuity, differential and integral calculus, differential equations, probability and statistics.
Confirm the examinable syllabus before you plan around it
The subject scope above is the standard Class 11–12 PCM body that engineering entrance tests draw on. The precise examinable syllabus, question format and duration for a given intake are published by the campus, and its admissions page is the only authority. Check it before building a study plan around any specific assumption.
